New York Giants 2008 NFL Draft Grade
The Giants’ main concern was apparently their secondary as they used the first two picks to add talent and depth. Both Kenny Philips and Terrell Thomas will see ample playing time in the Giants’ young secondary. Philips is the next in line of good young safeties from Miami. Though not the talent of Ed Reed or the late Sean Taylor, Philips will be expected to fill the void left by Gibril Wilson who jumped ship to the Oakland Raiders. Thomas, on the other hand, adds to the collection of talented young corners acquired in previous years, Corey Webster and Aaron Ross. The Giants will boast one of the best young secondaries in the league when it’s said and done.
