New Orleans Saints 2008 NFL Draft Grade
The Saints added serious beef to their defensive line in Sedrick Ellis and Demario Pressley. Both will get significant playing time with Ellis being a starter right away. Pressley adds great depth in the rotation. Tracy Porter, in the second round out of Indiana, filled the most apparent need for the Saints as they seemed to have a collective disinterest in defending the pass a year ago. He should start day one.

A couple of steals for the Saints come in tackle Carl Nicks out of Nebraska and receiver Adrian Arrington from Michigan who may be the steal of the draft much like Marques Colston was just a short while ago. Nicks is a project that could turn into a nice player. He's a massive Husker and you know those midwest boys can play. It’s really a wait and see effort with the former Nebraska tackle. Adrian Arrington should have stayed in school; he didn't and barely got drafted. He has great hands and deceptive speed. He may end up as just a possession receiver in the league but has a very high ceiling.
