Ernie Warlick was born in Washington DC on July 21, 1932. After playing his college football at North Carolina Central, Warlick played in the CFL and was an all-star from 1958-1960. In 1962, He joined the Buffalo Bills.

Cookie Gilchrist Buffalo Bills

Carlton Chester “Cookie” Gilchrist was born on May 25, 1935 in Brackenridge, Pennsylvania. When Gilchrist was asked about how he got his nickname he said, “My mother called me 'Cupcake,' my father called me 'Doughnut,' so we settled on 'Cookie'." He has been a pro ever since he was a 185 pound teenager playing for Har-Brack high school in Brackenridge, Pennsylvania. The NFL's Cleveland Browns signed him at 18, and shipped him off to Canada to get some experience. Gilchrist never played college football. (2)

Buffalo Bills 2008 NFL Draft Grade
Buffalo had another solid draft in hopes of building a contender in the frozen North. They add to their good young defense with Leodis McKelvin from Troy; he will return punts from day one relieving Terrance McGee of those duties. He also will play corner opposite McGee early on and was an overall very solid selection by the Bills. I thought Chris Ellis, defensive end from Virginia Tech, was going to be selected by a team that runs the 3-4. He is a very quick pass rushing end who has the ability to stand up and play some linebacker, making the defense that much more versatile.

Buffalo Bills 2007 Draft Recap

The Buffalo Bills entered the NFL draft after losing Willis McGahee and most of their starting LB’s.  They were able to fill those holes for the most part in the draft.  Marshawn Lynch and Dwayne Wright should add stability for the Bills at running back.  Paul Posluszny should help fill one of the holes at LB.  20Yardline.com Draft Grade / A-
